The Black Girl Burnout podcast is dedicated to helping black women learn how to opt-out of the mentality of struggle while also learning how to opt-into the life of joy, abundance, and good health, which is their birthright. Burnout can manifest in a variety of ways, including feelings of exhaustion, cynicism, and a lack of accomplishment. It is totally ok if you are experiencing more than one of the feelings at the same time. Being able to fully align with your truth is a significant sign of strength. The ultimate goal of the podcast is to help women achieve Opting Out of Struggle.
GUEST BIO: DR CASSANDRE DUNBAR
Dr. Cassandre Dunbar is the creator/host of the award-winning wellness podcast called Be Well, Sis. In her quest to achieve holistic wellness, she noted that Black women are often alienated in Wellness spaces despite suffering the worst medical outcomes compared to their peers. Cassandre launched her podcast in order to address this lack of inclusion.
She is also the mother of 2 spirited boys; years of ‘doing it all’ finally culminated in severe burnout following the traumatic birth of her now 4-year-old son. Her own experience ignited her passion for real heart-centered self-care for Black women like her- who’ve been socialized to be self-sacrificing since childhood. Through Be Well, Sis- her mission is to empower Black women with the resources they need to heal and thrive in all aspects of their lives and her vision is to create a world where Black women feel valued, supported, and celebrated in their pursuit of wellness.
