You’ll hear practical ideas and repeatable practices designed to support real change without hustle, overwhelm, or burnout cycles.
Episodes offer calm, thoughtful insight that helps you make sense of what you’re carrying and the gentle shifts that make real change possible.
This podcast speaks to the real experience of burnout, ambition, and pressure without minimizing it or romanticizing it.
Kelley Bonner is the founder and voice behind Black Girl Burnout. She brings decades of experience helping people think clearly about ambition, well-being, and joy, especially when life feels full, demanding, or unsustainably heavy.
Her work is grounded in lived experience and practical insight. Kelley talks about burnout and ambition, yes, but she is just as interested in the small, human moments that make life feel worth living again. Rest. Whimsy. Curiosity. The last time you laughed for no reason or twirled just because it felt good.
Through the podcast, Kelley blends reflection with practical systems and small, repeatable shifts that help listeners move forward without burning themselves down. Whether you’re navigating a demanding career, redefining work in a new season of life, or simply trying to build a life that feels more spacious and joyful, the work meets you where you are and helps you move from there.
iT's more than a podcast
Today’s episode is all about opting out of lies. Now, lies happen every day, all around us. And if we’re being honest, we’re probably have told a few. But, today we’re not going to focus on the lies that get told to us and the lies we may tell to others. That’s coming up in future podcasts. Today, I’m going to talk about the lies that we tell ourselves.
Today I want to talk about how to opt-out of drama. Every time I think about drama, I think about Mary J. Blige’s song “No More Drama”. I picture Mary J. and I think about all that she has endured and overcome along her journey. So in this episode, we are going to talk about ways to make your life drama free.
Do you struggle with forgiveness? I feel like that’s a loaded and complicated question. I think that a lot of people may say, No, I forgive everyone. However, when you then dig a little deeper underneath the surface, those feelings are often not sincere or true. If you struggle with being able to forgive, full-heartedly, this episode is for you.
Today we are going to talk about opting out of hard work. Specifically, we are going to talk about what I mean when I say “hard work”. We are also going to cover why some types of hard work can be considered toxic. Our goal is to align with doing things that in a manner that flow and bring ease into your daily life.
