Did you know that by keeping joy in your life, you can reframe the way that you think about things? Living a joyful life can begin by simply having a more positive outlook on life and choosing to see the bright side of things in a healthy way. This episode is for you if you are ready to learn how to center Joy in your life. Stay tuned til the end, to learn more about today’s homework assignment. You will be so glad that you did 🙂

The Black Girl Burnout podcast is dedicated to helping black women learn how to opt-out of the mentality of struggle while also learning how to opt-into the life of joy, abundance, and good health, which is their birthright. Burnout can manifest in a variety of ways, including feelings of exhaustion, cynicism, and a lack of accomplishment. It is totally ok if you are experiencing more than one of the feelings at the same time. Being able to fully align with your truth is a significant sign of strength. The ultimate goal of the podcast is to help women achieve Opting Out of Struggle.

I’m a 28 year old from the Bayous and Swamps of Louisiana. I’m an Actress, Photographer, Pastry Chef, and Travel Enthusiast based in Los Angeles, California. I create resources for Black creatives who want to escape fear and share their creativity with the world without compromising their integrity, creativity, faith and most importantly, without breaking the bank.

I am also a huge advocate for Mental Health and created my podcast, Affirmations for Black Girls, to create a safe space Affirmations for women who may be suppressing their feelings, where they can be open with themselves. Providing emotional support and encouragement to Black girls, that have encountered things they do not yet feel comfortable sharing with friends, family or the world. Discussing all things: relationships, faith, careers, self-love and personal development, whilst helping to reflect on their own life journey and think about how they’re feeling in order to move forward in a healthy manner.

Having an attitude of gratitude can help you with centering Joy in your life. Literally, you can just start with a simple thanks, and if you don’t believe in God or whatever, thank you universe. Thank you, period. Just opening your mind to saying the actual words “thank you” is really all you need to start on your gratitude journey. Let today be the day that you say NO MORE to all versions of the struggle.
